Born and raised in Kansas, Laura’s [mostly] minimalist mindset took shape in a tiny San Francisco apartment—but it’s through writing that it’s fully come to life.
A problem solver by nature and longtime event planner by trade, Laura spent nearly two decades helping people simplify their homes and lives. These days, she turns that same lens inward, and onto the page, exploring the in-between of raising her kids, caring for her parents, and learning (in real time) how to take care of herself, too.
Through her Substack, Laura shares honest, humorous reflections on what it actually looks and feels like to live a little lighter. Her writing blends clarity, relatability, and just enough tough love to make you laugh, occasionally cry, and often say, “same.”
She’ll always have a soft spot for a good Goodwill drop-off, but you’re just as likely to find her on the sidelines of her sons’ games, at a mahjong table, or on a pickleball court—chasing the same sense of connection she so often writes about.
